What is Clickfunnels

ClickFunnels launched in 2014 and has continued to grow in prominence and appeal to marketers, entrepreneurs, and business owners for the right reasons. Forbes describes ClickFunnels as a revolutionary online tool, changing how businesses market their products and services.

If you’re just learning about ClickFunnels, it will interest you to know that the tool makes it easy for business owners, marketers, and entrepreneurs to sell their products and services online, using complicated marketing technology called sales funnels.

ClickFunnels was created by Russell Brunson, a celebrated entrepreneur famous for using ClickFunnels to sell his books. He has amassed a fortune from ClickFunnels and his other marketing endeavors. He has repeatedly stated that before creating ClickFunnels, he played around a bit with email marketing.

As we mentioned earlier, Russell Brunson is a successful author whose books Expert Secret and DotCom Secrets became instant bestsellers. ClickFunnels: What makes it special?

ClickFunnels: What makes it special?

As we mentioned right from the get-go, ClickFunnels is a remarkable resource that makes it easy for users to create high-converting sales funnels. This superb tool lets marketers and entrepreneurs scale their businesses by converting leads to paying customers.

What’s incredibly unique about ClickFunnels is that it gives users access to everything they need to appeal and attract visitors. The icing on the cake is that it converts visitors to leads and, finally, into paying customers.

If you know what you’re doing or follow some expert tips, you should be able to set it up to run automatically. This simply means that you can tweak your sales funnels to keep growing your company even while you sleep, travel the world, or focus on other things.

Many people have called ClickFunnels the ultimate sales strategy, and we can’t agree any less, especially given the incredible success rate it delivers.

Is there any difference between a sales funnel and a website?

Is there any difference between a sales funnel and a website?

One question that pops up when we discuss sales funnels is whether it is different from a website, and, to be honest, the answer is a resounding yes.

To start with, a website is a static page, which most times carries your company’s information. To give you a mental picture, think of it as a store. A store typically has an entrance, a signature logo, some extra details, and even some products showcased to attract visitors.

On the flip side, we like to see sales funnels as expert salespeople, speaking with customers and showcasing products they are interested in. Not just that, a sales funnel also sells them the product after winning their trust. While you’re off growing your company, your sales funnel will continue to work around the clock.

Simply put, a sales funnel is a robust marketing campaign that includes multiple steps intended to take customers from one step to the next. By breaking a customer’s step into a series of smaller, more digestible steps, you’ll be able to convince such a customer to buy from you, which is the ultimate goal.

Why should you use sales funnels instead of ads?

Now that you know the difference between sales funnels and a website, it’s time to bring you up to speed on why most entrepreneurs prefer sales funnels to ads.

To get started, sales funnels are designed like inverted pyramids. And as more users see your product, only those genuinely interested in your product will show interest and buy. But with ads, it feels like bombarding different random users and hoping they commit.

While ads have their advantages, we love sales funnels because of the way it works and its design. You can entice a lead with a sales funnel until they become a paying customer.

We like to think of a sales funnel as a marriage. Nobody just comes across a random stranger and proposes marriage to them. And the reason is simple; things don’t work that way.

By simply exchanging info, going on dates, starting a relationship, and moving in together, you’ll be able to get someone to marry you. This is exactly what a sales funnel seeks to do.

If you nurture leads via sales funnels, there is every likelihood that you’ll convert the lead to a paying customer.

How do ClickFunnels make it easy for users to build high-converting sales funnels?

While there is so much to talk about regarding the features available on ClickFunnels, we will use this opportunity to give you a quick overview.

Before ClickFunnels became a thing, companies, marketers, and entrepreneurs needed to put together a professional team of tech pros to design sales funnels, which typically involves building separate and connected pages.

But since ClickFunnels launched in 2014, it has dramatically changed the game.

ClickFunnels has made it easy for anyone to build a profitable sales funnel and online presence. The most exciting part is that you don’t need to be tech-savvy to get this done. Creating high-converting sales funnels using ClickFunnels is as easy as posting on Facebook. This explains why there is an insane demand for ClickFunnels.

What makes ClickFunnel super easy to use is that it provides seamless access to funnel templates, a landing page builder, a visual editor, and, of course, seamless email integration. We will expound on more exciting features as we delve deeper into this ClickFunnels review.

  • ClickFunnels has everything you’ll need to guide visitors step by step through the sales process
  • This fantastic tool point visitors to products and services they need
  • It also follows up with them even when they leave the page.

These and many more are why many entrepreneurs opt for ClickFunnels instead of the many alternatives on the market.

When it comes to UX, there are very few tools on the market that can deliver the quality of UX ClickFunnels provide. Regarding ranking, ClickFunnels sits on top of our list of best funnel/landing page-building resources.

Funnel Builder

Funnel Builder

As its name suggests, ClickFunnels is primarily designed to build high-converting sales funnels. For many users using ClickFunnels, this is the main reason they opted for the tool in the first place. And if you’re reading about it now, there is a high probability you’re interested in ClickFunnels because of its high converting sales funnels.

While ClickFunnels has some strategic marketing potential, many users have come to love that it makes it easy for users to build sales without any tech experience. Even though we feel that advertising that ClickFunnels can be used to create sales funnels within minutes is a bit exaggerated, we know for sure that creating sales funnels with ClickFunnels is way faster than using other resources out there.

Also, it feels comforting to know that ClickFunnels will help you grow your business while you sleep.

Before we delve deeper, here are some top reasons why entrepreneurs create sales funnels:

  • Generate leads: One of the top reasons any entrepreneur would create sales funnels is to generate leads. Using sales funnels, businesses, marketers, and entrepreneurs can get their visitors’ names, phone numbers, and email addresses. This information can be collected and sent directly to your email marketing software.
  • Generating sales: Another reason entrepreneurs use sales funnels is to generate sales. If you need a quick funnel for cheap products or want longer sales pages or videos to market more complex or expensive products, you will love every bit of what ClickFunnels offers. And the exciting part is that ClickFunnels provides you access to ready-made templates you can use. Thanks to this option, you can simply copy and paste the content you want to use to fill out each page.
  • Online event: This is great for hosting webinars on third-party resources. You can also use it within ClickFunnels.

Using all of the unique resources available on ClickFunnels, all you ever need to do is click the features you need and watch the tool build everything for you. Call it an instant sales framework, and you won’t be wrong.

Even though ClickFunnels is not perfect, as it has its few lapses, we love that you can get it to do the things you set out for. With ClickFunnels, you won’t have to spend tons of hours or an insane amount on developing a robust marketing team.

Landing pages

While ClickFunnels is excellent for building high-converting sales funnels, it is also great for building landing pages. For those just learning about landing pages, it would interest you to know that landing pages are individual pages within your sales funnel designed to accomplish specific goals.

Typically, marketers and entrepreneurs use landing pages to collect visitors’ phone numbers, emails, addresses, and other essential information. And if you’re lucky enough, you can even sell a few products using landing pages.

With ClickFunnels, creating landing pages has never been easier. Plus, it has an easy-to-use drag-and-drop builder which lets users build professional-looking and high-converting sales funnels without any prior experience.

Even if you create barebones landing pages using simple details like a headline, sales copy, and signup form, the chances of this landing page converting is pretty high.

If you’re just starting out with ClickFunnels, we strongly recommend playing around a bit and gauging how some of your sales funnels perform. As you explore the tool and watch some tutorials, you’ll significantly improve the quality of landing pages or sales funnels you put out.

ClickFunnels templates

Are you just starting out building sales funnels and have no idea what a landing page should look like? You have nothing to worry about, as ClickFunnels have you covered.

ClickFunnels provides users access to tons of high-converting templates carefully designed for all types of businesses. While the platform allows you to make your choice, they also allow you to make changes as you want.

ClickFunnels have different templates for sales pages, upsells, membership sites, and event pages.

ClickFunnels claim that their team has tested these templates and found them highly converting, which is what many users are interested in. From our experience with using these templates, we find this claim credible, even though some of their templates look stale and boring. But then again, we love that the company allows users to make changes to these templates.

If you’re starting with sales funnels and landing pages, ClickFunnels templates will help you get the job done.

And yes, there is also the option to execute A/B testing for the different templates they provide. This makes it easy to know how each template will perform when put out.

While we had earlier briefly highlighted the drag-and-drop builder provided by ClickFunnels, when discussing the UX feature of the platform, we will jump into more details shortly.

ClickFunnels’s impressive drag and drop editor

ClickFunnels's impressive drag and drop editor

ClickFunnels drag-and-drop editor is one of a kind, and we love it because it is easy to use. Using the drag-and-drop editor provided by ClickFunnels, you can make your sales funnels and landing pages look exactly as you want them.

While ClickFunnels’s drag-and-drop editor gets the job done, we would love to reiterate at this point that it isn’t the best landing page builder, especially when you compare it with what you get with other Sales Funnel resources out there.

If you’re looking for a comprehensive landing page editor, you can opt for the likes of InstaPage. Also, with ClickFunnels’s editor, you might encounter a few bugs that may slow you down once you reach higher levels. We are highlighting this because we love to keep our reviews honest.

That said, ClickFunnels will be a brilliant option, especially if you’re out for something practical, easy to use, and offers seamless customization.

One of the reasons why we would choose ClickFunnels editor over other options is because of how insanely easy to use.

Its drag-and-drop nature ensures that anyone can build a landing page or sales funnel without any prior tech experience. ClickFunnels has done all of the hard work for you. All that is left is for you to fill everything in the available section. And for those who are a little tech-savvy, you can deploy your CSS, HTML, or Javascript experience to make notable changes.

For those just starting, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and intimidated by all the details. Still, you’ll soon discover how easy it is to navigate the entire process once you begin to add elements like images, texts, videos, forms, buttons, etc. When starting with ClickFunnels’s editor, we always encourage newbies to use the pre-built template provided by ClickFunnels. As you build a bit of experience, you can begin making customization as you want.

Here are some other elements you can leverage to give a compelling look to your landing pages;

  • FAQ blocks
  • Surveys
  • Facebook comments
  • SMS signup
  • Progress bars
  • Custom HTML
  • Countdown Timers

Let us quickly add that ClickFunnels offer some of the most mobile-friendly pages you can ever build. And as you already know, you don’t need to do much as the tool has done the bulk of the job for you.

Clickfunnels drag and drop editor summary

Without mincing words, ClickFunnels is one of the favorite landing page builders, and sales funnel resources for many users. Thanks to its many unbeatable features and functionalities, it’s no surprise why many marketers and leading experts choose ClickFunnels editor over other options.

Using ClickFunnels editors is as easy as choosing a premade template, tweaking the landing page inside the template, and you’re ready to unpack a high-converting sales funnel that grows your business even when you’re asleep.

As we mentioned earlier, while ClickFunnels may not be the most functional sales funnel builder out there, if you’re looking for a simple way to build a sales funnel, there are very few resources out there that can get the job done as fast as ClickFunnels does. Using ClickFunnels, it’s almost impossible to screw things up.

If you’re out for a sales funnel builder that is convenient, functional, usable, and delivers professional quality, you’ll love everything offered by ClickFunnels.

ClickFunnels and its powerful integrations

While ClickFunnels provides users access to impeccable marketing resources, we love that they take things up a notch by supporting third-party SMS, email marketing resources, payment gateways, and marketing platforms. This is intended to make it easy for users to market and sell their products online. When it comes to integrations, very few sales funnel tools can beat the number of integrations supported by ClickFunnels.

Using third-party integrations on ClickFunnels offers a lot of benefits. While the sales funnels built using ClickFunnels are already high-converting, by leveraging third-party tools, you’ll be able to get more out of your sales funnels and landing pages, especially in terms of marketing.

Here are some popular integrations available on ClickFunnels:

  • Ever Webinar, a reliable tool for putting together webinars
  • Sales Force
  • ActiveCampaign
  • Shopify
  • Stripe
  • MailChimp
  • Drip
  • Constant Contact
  • Twilio
  • Zaperier
  • Actionetics (ClickFunnels’s very own email marketing resource)
  • HubSpot
  • Facebook

After years of using ClickFunnels, we have realized that all these third-party apps run smoothly. Plus, integrating them on your ClickFunnels dashboard only takes a few clicks. By simply clicking the “Add New Integration” button, you’ll be able to add all the different integrations you need to scale your business.

For those asking whether ClickFunnels have autoresponders, the answer is a resounding yes, and it is part of the platform’s email follow-up process.

Share Funnels

This is one of the most exciting features we love about ClickFunnels. And the reason we love it is that it makes us money without demanding too much from us.

The Share Funnels feature on ClickFunnels allows users to duplicate an entire marketing funnel from another user’s profile. And here is the catch. ClickFunnels makes it possible for users to share their winning sales funnel with other users. All users need to do is download and implement these sales funnels into their own accounts, and they will be able to enjoy the same result. How cool can that be?

For businesses selling eBooks, you can simply comb the ClickFunnels Share Funnels section for winning ebook marketing funnels. Once you find one that ticks all your boxes, you can simply duplicate it and use it as your own. And guess what? The entire process is smooth and hassle-free.

ClickFunnels Actionetics

Even though ClickFunnels allows users to integrate third-party email marketing tools, they have their very own email marketing tool, called Actionetics, which converts even better. Using ClickFunnels Actionetics, you can seamlessly connect with your subscribers and lure them toward the next step of your funnels.

Even if you’re used to MailChimp, there is nothing wrong with exploring ClickFunnels Actionetics. What’s incredibly cool about their email marketing tool is that it provides detailed analytics that gives you insight into how much each subscriber is worth.

Once you have successfully put together a list, you can use Actionetics to create emails and send them to your audience segment.

As we said, even though Actionetics may not be as comprehensive as other email marketing software, it gives you some added advantages.

ClickFunnels Backpack

ClickFunnels Backpack

The importance of affiliate marketing in selling online these days cannot be overemphasized. And with ClickFunnels, you have a chance to increase sales and revenue via affiliate marketing. ClickFunnels offer a robust affiliate marketing program dubbed Backpack. This powerful program allows entrepreneurs and marketers to add affiliate marketing to their sites.

With many businesses using affiliate advertising to grow their business, we are sure you don’t want to pass on this opportunity to boost your revenue. Thankfully, you don’t have to, as the ClickFunnels Backpack affiliate program gives you all you need to set up an affiliate marketing suite for your business.

What’s incredibly unique about affiliate marketing is that it provides businesses a chance to scale their business without doing so much or spending an insane amount of money.

All you need to do is get affiliates to sell your products or services while you pay them a commission. And the best part is that you only pay commissions when they generate sales.

We would love to add at this point that the tool is super easy to use. Despite some complaints, we haven’t had any problem setting it up.

Payment integrations

ClickFunnels is unbeatable when it comes to payment gateway integrations. While payment gateways are simply called integrations on other sales funnel platforms, on Clickfunnels, it is called billing integrations and has a separate section from integrations. What we love most about ClickFunnels payment gateway integration is that it supports multiple payment methods, making it easy for entrepreneurs, marketers, and others to receive payments for their services and products.

Without payment gateways, it would be nearly impossible for customers to pay for your items, and we are thrilled to know that ClickFunnels offer multiple options you can choose from. Read on for a list of supported payment gateways on ClickFunnels.

  • Warriorplus
  • NMI
  • JVZoo
  • ClickBank
  • Recurly
  • BlueSnap
  • Stripe
  • Easy Pay Direct
  • Infusionsoft
  • Ontraport
  • Taxamo

While ClickFunnels provides multiple payment gateways you can add to your store, they have also made it easy for users to integrate these payment gateways. Whether you decide to use multiple payment gateways in your store, rest assured that ClickFunnels has made it easy to manage all your payment gateways from one place.

A/B Testing

Do you want to evaluate different versions of your sales funnels or landing pages before they go live? You can do that using ClickFunnels highly reliable A/B testing feature. Using A/B testing, you can easily determine which page is performing well and which elements are performing poorly.

A/B testing is also great for locating essential elements that make a page successful. Once you get the hang of how A/B testing works, you’ll never launch a page without first testing. By A/B testing all your landing pages, you’ll have a perfectly optimized sales funnel that will perform as intended.

WordPress Plugin

This is another brilliant feature important for people whose websites are designed and hosted on WordPress. Thanks to this plugin, there would be no need to switch back and forth between WordPress and ClickFunnels.

More importantly, the plugin makes it easy for users to create and add pages to their websites. Also, the plugin makes it possible to edit and manage pages effortlessly.

ClickFunnels Pricing

ClickFunnels Pricing

Many users look out for pricing when shopping for a sales funnel solution. While they are obviously out for the best, they don’t want to overpay for a tool. That’s why we have included pricing for ClickFunnels in our review. Here is everything you need to know about ClickFunnels pricing.

Regarding pricing, ClickFunnels offers two plans you can choose from. They have a Standard plan and a Platinum plan.

The Standard plan starts from $97 per month. On the flip side, the Platinum plan costs $297 per month.

While we agree that ClickFunnels is a tad pricey, especially when you compare it to other sales funnels resources on the market, we are thrilled to inform you that you don’t need to commit to an expensive plan immediately as ClickFunnels gives a 14-day free trial. So you can always try out their services before committing to a plan.

Also, customers who opt for an annual plan get mouthwatering discounts. You’ll get two extra free months by opting for ClickFunnels’s yearly package.

In terms of pricing, the yearly package costs $997 and $2997 for respective plans.

We agree that ClickFunnels pricing is on the high side, especially considering that competitors like LeadPages charge way less. On a platform like LeadPages, you get to pay as little as $25 monthly. That said, have it at the back of your mind that the goal of ClickFunnels is to make creating sales funnels a tad easier and more efficient, and it does a brilliant job in this regard. Looking at all the perks offered by ClickFunnels, we have no doubt it would be a great investment.

Although both plans offer users access to remarkable features they can leverage to build high-converting sales funnels, the Standard package has fewer features than the Platinum package. Some of the features available on the Standard account include access to the main service, including the funnel builder. That said, you’ll have to deal with some limitations.

For instance, you can only build 100 pages with the Standard plan. On top of that, visits are limited to 20,000. Similarly, you can only have three custom domains.

Nevertheless, both plans provide A/B split testing, access to advanced funnels, unlimited contacts, and unlimited members.

With the Platinum package, users get access to a host of features, including one-time payment (a feature unique to ClickFunnels’s Backpack. This feature lets users categorize a product or service as a one-time payment product), subscription plans, a unique feature that allows customers to pay for subscription-based services. Another unique feature available on the Platinum package from ClickFunnels is the 3 SMTP integration. Other features include custom domains, unlimited funnels and page visits, priority support, template request, Backpack, and Followup Funnels.

To wrap up the difference between both plans, the Standard plan provides access to ClickFunnels cardinal features. In contrast, Platinum offers extra features like Backpack and Followup funnels, which aren’t accessible on the Standard package. On top of that, users get unlimited access to all of ClickFunnels’s features.

ClickFunnels customer support

ClickFunnels customer support

ClickFunnels offer priority support to ensure customers get help when needed. Before we delve further into unveiling ClickFunnels’s customer support services, we would like to highlight that the platform has decent documentation on-site.

Even though many consider ClickFunnels documentation pretty basic for SaaS companies, we have found these documentations sufficient for what they are intended for. On their documentation page, you’ll find a series of categories, populated with various articles, carefully written to give users a hang of how to make the most of the platform.

In terms of direct customer service, ClickFunnels provide access to a chat feature, which can be accessed directly from the dashboard once you log on. Although we aren’t too pleased with the chat feature, we have found it helpful, especially for basic questions and troubleshooting. Unfortunately, we haven’t found the chat feature helpful, especially for more advanced questions.

ClickFunnels customer support 2

Some customers have complained about waiting months to get help on some HTML publishing questions. That aside, ClickFunnels provide essential assistance when customers need them, and this should suffice for most users.

Another thing we have noticed when researching ClickFunnels is the consistent reviews, which all point to a bad experience with customer service. Many customers have complained about not getting the help they need, especially when some features aren’t working as promised. One particular user recounted that his customers could not access his services due to a site error from ClickFunnels. In contrast, non-paying customers gained access to services designed for members only. When he was eventually able to reach out to a customer rep, his complaints were not treated seriously.

We get it, this may be a one-off experience and can happen to anyone, but it says a lot about ClickFunnels’s customer service.

Overall support ratings

We wouldn’t like to pass a verdict saying ClickFunnels fails in customer support, but we believe they can do a lot to improve their customer service. One thing is sure, ClickFunnels is aware that its services are a bit technical and not so easy to use. More so, some of the tools available on the platform are new to users, so ClickFunnels know they have to provide enough educational resources to make things easy for users.

Overall, ClickFunnels customer support reps are well trained and will provide help on fundamental questions. More so, they are responsive, which is something we love.

While it’s safe to say that ClickFunnels doesn’t offer the best support, it suffices to say that their customer support service isn’t all that bad. If we are to rate ClickFunnels customer support, we would give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

Pros of ClickFunnels

There are many things we love about ClickFunnels, and we will take you through all of them shortly. But before we get into all the details, always keep in mind that ClickFunnels is designed to save you time and energy. Instead of spending hours creating a sales funnel you think may convert, ClickFunnels does all the hard work, allowing you to build landing pages quicker than you ever imagined. That said, here are some of the advantages of using ClickFunnels.

Makes you money: One of the upsides of using ClickFunnels is that it is engineered to make users money. With ClickFunnels, creating an account, uploading content, and receiving payments are super easy. More so, we love that the tool is easy to use. A few hours is enough to get the hang of how ClickFunnels works. And yes, you have access to educational resources to guide you.

Drag and drop page builder: This unique feature makes it easy for users to design and customize their landing pages. Using the drag-and-drop page builder on ClickFunnels, you can seamlessly duplicate pages. Not just that, you can also save a template you can always use when you need it. ClickFunnels page builder is one of a kind and provides everything you’ll need to design high-converting pages.

Impressive integration selection: One thing you can’t dispute about ClickFunnels is their integration selection. Popular integrations like autoresponders, email marketing providers, and payment processors work pretty well on ClickFunnels. More so, these integrations are super easy to manage. In our opinion, we think the platform handles API integrations superbly.

A/B testing: With built-in A/B testing functionality, ClickFunnels has made it easy for users to test different landing page elements before deploying. This way, they are able to gauge the performance of each page. Again, the entire process is easy as you only need to duplicate a page, make the necessary changes, and set the amount of traffic you want to see.

WordPress plugin: One area where ClickFunnels beat the competition is its support for the WordPress plugin. Using the WordPress plugin, it’s super easy to add ClickFunnels to your WordPress website. The WordPress plugin saves you a lot of time as you won’t have to alternate between ClickFunnels and WordPress. Also, we would love to add that the ClickFunnels WordPress plugin gets a solid 4.4 stars and has over 20,000 active installations.

All-in-one features: We love the centralization that ClickFunnels offer. With ClickFunnels, users can build quality landing pages, create forms, and trigger emails from one place. All of these save you time and money. Also, you’ll spend less time building landing pages as ClickFunnels provides you with everything needed to make your job easy.

Reasonable value: While many people consider ClickFunnels a tad expensive, if you factor in the unique features they provide, coupled with the ease of using the platform, you’ll agree that it is reasonably priced. Their Standard package is excellent for people just starting with sales funnels. On the flip side, if you’re looking to get more out of your sales funnel, we suggest you opt for the Platinum package from ClickFunnels, as it has no restrictions.

Despite not being perfect, ClickFunnels has a brilliant collection of carefully designed tools to give your sales funnels and landing pages an edge. With ClickFunnels, creating and managing multiple funnels has never been easier.

Cons of ClickFunnels

Even though there are some exciting things about ClickFunnels, it has some downsides we would love to highlight. We believe that highlighting some of these not-so-cool sides of the platform will help you make an informed decision anytime you decide to give the tool a try. Here are some cons of ClickFunnels that you should know.

ClickFunnels is overpriced: Despite its overwhelming benefits, we think that ClickFunnels is a tad pricey. More so, they only have two packages you can choose from: the Standard package, which costs $97 per month, and the Platinum package, which costs $297 per month. Fortunately, the pricing may not be a big deal for many people, especially if you consider it an investment in your business. Plus, there are a lot of perks about the platform.

Poor customer service: If there is anything we don’t like about ClickFunnels, it has to be their lackluster customer support. While their customer service reps have helped with basic questions, they haven’t performed well when asked more advanced questions. We believe that with adequate training they can improve their customer service significantly.

Cult-like following: While we like to keep our reviews objective, we have some reservations about their marketing. Suppose you find yourself using one of their funnels; it’s almost impossible to miss the hype. Even though some people may not have any issues with it, we have some reservations about their gorilla marketing.

There is no denying that their marketing is excellent. But from a user experience point of view, we think their marketing is a bit intrusive. Once you sign up on the platform, you’ll have to choose between enjoying the platform’s robust features or contending with Russell Brunson’s marketing methods; the choice is yours.

This means you’ll find yourself attending webinars, buying online courses, or getting overrun by CliCKFunnels Culture. Though ClickFunnels has a very active Facebook Group, we aren’t thrilled by the activities in the Facebook community, and that’s because their Facebook group is overrun by users bragging about how much they have made from the platform while flashing their wealth. Even though these numbers check out, our qualms are that the Facebook community seems to promote ClickFunnels as a quick money-making scheme, which it isn’t. It will help if the community is focused on assisting users in building genuine products and services.

There is no denying that ClickFunnels has helped users achieve great things; nevertheless, the platform has continued to promote get-rich schemes, which can be a huge problem, especially if you offer your products and services online.

We can all agree that Russel Brunson is a marketing genius. That said, most of the platform’s success rides on his brand and philosophy. Of course, we love ClickFunnels landing page builders, but we are afraid that the platform is heavily reliant on its founder.

ClickFunnel is too templated: ClickFunnels has a lot of great templates that have been tested and proven to deliver, but then we think the platform is a bit too templated. While users have the chance to customize their landing pages, we have found that most users end up using similar designs. Although this might not be a big deal, we think diversity is essential, which ClickFunnels is currently missing.

Software outages and bugs: Every now and then, ClickFunnels experiences network outages, which can be a bit annoying. While this happens sparingly, when it does, it cripples a lot of businesses. For businesses heavily invested in ClickFunnels, a glitch can cause you to lose a lot of money, a scenario no business prays for.

While ClickFunnels has worked to improve these lapses over the years, the problem still persists. We hope they can find a lasting solution to this problem that seems to happen now and then.

User experience isn’t consistent: One issue we have with ClickFunnels is that their dashboard changes too often. While we love that they make upgrades every now, the enhancements change things significantly. Most upgrades usually end with buttons switching positions, or pricing options moved to a different place. Usually, when things happen like this, it signifies that the company is still trying to figure things out.

We love to see sales funnel tools maintain consistency. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen that with ClickFunnels in this regard.

Too basic: Many users have complained about ClickFunnels being too basic, and we seem to agree with this notion. But even with its simplicity, ClickFunnels is too darn expensive. When we talk about simplicity, we aren’t referring to the features or design of the platform; instead, we are talking about the do-it-yourself approach, which has made many people opt for the platform for many years.

While experienced users may tag ClickFunnels as being too simple, we are sure newbies will appreciate the platform’s simplicity.

How do a sales funnel work?

To understand ClickFunnels and how it works, you must understand precisely what a sales funnel is. Just so you know, a sales funnel is also sometimes called a marketing funnel. In simple terms, a sales funnel helps categorize prospective customers based on the position they take on the buying journey.

There are multiple steps in a sales funnel. As prospective visitors or customers go through each step, their chances of being converted to paying customers increase.

The first level is the awareness stage. This level is where potential customers become aware of your products, business, or services. The awareness stage can be achieved when customers encounter ads about your services, products, website, or brand on social media platforms.

If you can gain visitors’ attention via successful online marketing or nicely put together landing pages, you may successfully move the prospects to the interest stage. At this level, the prospective customers will evaluate your products and services to gain better insight into your unique offerings.

Once they have enough information about your products or services and decide to buy them, they move to the next stage, the decision stage. At this level, prospects take a deeper dive into your products, explore alternative sales pages, and compare prices. With a unique brand image and proper marketing, you’ll be able to make your business stand out as the best option.

Finally, the action stage is where leads decide to buy your products or pay for your services. Keep in mind that they may or may not end up choosing your services or products. But you can keep nurturing these groups as they would likely buy your products in the future.

Before you get disappointed that a customer didn’t take the actions you expected, keep in mind that not everyone visiting your website wants to learn about your business, products, or services. Also, not everyone who knows about your products wants to make a purchase. As the number of prospects trims down with each level, your sales funnel becomes narrowers.

This explains why it takes on the funnel shape. Sure, your own funnel may have a different look, but it usually fits the generic shape in practice.
