You can make a Word document a pdf file by exporting it as pdf or using the save as pdf option. We’ll look at both options in this tutorial.
To save a Word document as a pdf file, please obey the instructions below:
- Click on the File tab to switch to the backend of your Word document.
- From the left pane, click on Save As.
- The Save As screen appears, click on Browse to specify the name and location of the PDF file.
- In the left pane of the Save As window, click on Desktop to save the pdf on Desktop. You can specify any other location such as Documents.
- Type the name of the PDF in the File Name box.
- Click the Save as type: drop-down and select PDF from the list.
- Hit on the Save button at the bottom of the Save As dialog.
As soon as you hit the Save button, your Word document will be converted into a PDF file.
Exporting Word document to PDF
Alternatively, you can also export your Word document to a pdf file instead of using the Save As approach.
To do so, obey the following instructions:
- Click on the File tab to switch to the backend of your Word document.
- On the left pane, click on Export.
- The Export screen appears, click on the Create PDF/XPS button.
- The Publish as PDF or XPS dialog will appear.
- Click on Desktop on the left pane to export the PDF to desktop. You can choose any other location such as Documents.
- Specify the name of the PDF file in the File name: box.
- From the Save as type: drop-down list, select PDF.
- Click Publish.
As soon as you hit on the publish button, your Word document will be exported as a pdf file.
