In order to start using Tally ERP 9, you need to, first of all, do two things: Download Tally ERP 9 software and install it on your computer.
You have several options to download and install this software, but I’ll show you my favorite– the simplest option. Just follow below instructions.
Download Tally ERP 9
The above link will take you to Tally ERP 9 download page. Keep gliding down the page until you see three buttons with these labels: Install now, Download for later, and install previous version.
The Install Now button allows you to download the online installer file for Tally ERP 9. With the online installer, you’ll need to be connected to the internet in order to be able to install the software.
The Download for later button allows you to download the offline installer file for Tally ERP 9. With the offline installer, you don’t need to be connected to the internet to install the software (I personally prefer this option).
Finally, the Install Previous Version button allows you to download and install older versions of the software.
I’ll say you should go in for download for later. Clicking the button will automatically download the compatible setup for your system.
Installing Tally ERP 9
You install Tally ERP 9 the same way that you install any other application program. How you install software on your PC depends on which version of Microsoft Windows you are using.
However, in general, windows knows that the file you just downloaded is a new to-be-installed software program. double-clicking on the downloaded file will start the process of installing the Tally ERP 9 software.
You don’t need to do anything special to install Tally ERP 9. Simply follow the onscreen guide.
After going through the installation process, Tally will greet you with a startup screen shown below:
At this point, Tally ERP 9 is fully downloaded on your PC and ready for use.
As you can see on the startup page, you’ll need a license to use the full version of this software.
However, if you are not using it for you or your client’s business, and your sole purpose is to use it for learning, the option “Educational Mode” is all you’ll need.
